20 REASONS WHY YOU DON’T RANK IN GOOGLE

    1. YOU’RE NOT DOING KEYWORD RESEARCH

    Knowing what people type in the search engines is crucial for rankings. Many people make the mistake of not even making any kind of keyword research before they hit the publish button and later they’re wondering why they’re not getting any traffic. Depending on your type of audience, gender, age the search queries my defer also. Choosing some great long tail keywords for your title and content that have large amount of monthly searches is the first step you must do.

    2. YOUR CONTENT IS POOR OR STOLLEN

    If your content is stollen is more likely that you’ll get on the list with all the other bad sites. If your posts are under 500 words and they don’t contain synonyms of your main keyword is going to bad for your rankings also. Try to provide fresh and original content that’s over 500 words and contains all kinds of long tail keywords related to your content.

    3. YOUR KEYWORD IS NOT IN THE TITLE TAG

    Make sure your main keyword it’s in the title, this is the number one SEO priority you must consider.

    4. YOU’RE NOT USING SYNONYMS OF THE KEYWORD IN YOUR CONTENT

    Remember that using synonyms is great to show relevance but you also must consider what other terms Google had related to those terms lately. Best way to do that is by conducting a great keyword research when using Google AdWords and adding some of the phrases contained in the “keyword ideas” results.

    5. YOUR DOMAIN IS BRAND NEW

    A domain created in 98 is less likely to be spammy because at that time spam didn’t existed yet. You can’t expect to rank with a brand new domain in less than 3 months from it’s creation.

    6. YOU DON’T HAVE ANY LINKS POINTING TO YOUR POSTS

    Linking to your home page is great but if you want to rank your posts you must focus on providing some great quality links pointing to your posts from sites that are authoritative within your community.

    8. YOUR LINKS COME FROM NOT CONTENT RELATED SITES

    Links from not content related sites still help rankings but 1 link from content related sites with high authority in the eyes of Google counts 100 times more.

    9. YOU ARE NOT USING THE RIGHT ANCHOR TEXT IN YOUR LINKS

    You either don’t use anchor text for your links or you may be using the wrong one. Remember that your anchor text should vary in all of the synonyms of your main keyword.

    10. YOUR LINKS COME FROM SITES WITH LOW AUTHORITY WITHIN YOUR NICHE

    If your links come only from sites that has little or no authority you’re not doing a great job.

    11. YOU ARE BUYING LINKS

    If you’re going for the long term blog…just never do that!

    12. YOU ARE SELLING LINKS

    You’ve been a bad boy!  Just joking, selling links could get you penalized easily.

    13. THE POST YOU ARE TRYING TO RANK IS FAR FROM YOUR HOME PAGE

    Put the link of the page you’re trying to rank in the sidebar and at the end of all other pages. This way you’re telling Google that you’re not afraid to show your post to people.

    14. YOU HAVE LOW DOMAIN AUTHORITY

    Check your domain authority using the open sites explorer from Moz. If it’s low it mean that your links are pretty bad and you’re not doing very well in search engines.

    15. YOU ARE BUILDING LINKS TO FAST

    Let’s say you build 5 links x day for a month and then suddenly you build other 50 links in just one day. Google is going to monitor your link building strategy to see if those links are natural, if they’re not get ready for being deindexed or penalised.

    16. USER TEND TO CLICK THE BACK BUTTON ONCE THEY FOUND YOU

    The user experience has become a very important factor ultimately. If people don’t stay for to much after they clicked on your SER it means that they din’t find what they were looking for and that brakes the Google goals of providing the best relevant results.

    17. YOUR POST IS NOT SHARED ON SOCIAL MEDIA

    No links, no popularity. Googles algorithm  tries to rank post that are popular and liked by people. Best way to calculate this is with social shares.

    18. YOUR WEBSITE DESIGN SUCKS

    If somebody sees a black background and some funny looking unreadable font it’s most likely that they’ll not stick too much on your website. The design’s also important in the Google eyes when evaluating how much effort and with what seriousness you approached your website.

    19. YOU’RE LOW ON COMMENTS ON YOUR POST

    Again, more comments means more popularity. No comments means no popularity

    20. YOU’RE NOT USING IMAGES IN YOUR POST

    Using images tells Google that you’re content rich and it adds some great points to your ranking factors. I Also advise you to use the right keyword in the alt  attribute of the image. It’s a great way to make some impressions in Google images also.
